Lovebirds and Winding Road Records are celebrating the 15th anniversary of ‘Want You In My Soul’, featuring Stee Downes, with a new collection of remixes. The project revisits the 2011 deep house track through six interpretations available in digital and vinyl formats.
Originally released through Winding Road Records, ‘Want You In My Soul’ became one of the defining tracks in the partnership between Lovebirds and the label. According to the label, the original has surpassed 45 million streams on Spotify and remains a regular closing selection for Gilles Peterson at the Sete Festival.
The anniversary release brings together several producers associated with deep house. Schmoov! contributes two versions, a radio edit and an extended remix, incorporating 1980s disco influences, uplifting synthesizers, strings, and the original vocals by Stee Downes.
Knee Deep takes the track into darker territory with a dub interpretation centered on a heavier groove and fragmented vocal elements. Lovebirds also contributes an Ocean Dub, combining house and hip-hop influences with atmospheric textures and backing vocals from Mique.
Completing the package, Atjazz delivers both a Love Soul vocal remix and an instrumental version, placing emphasis on piano arrangements, percussion, and warmer melodic elements.
The release also highlights the longstanding relationship between Lovebirds and Winding Road Records, whose previous collaborations include ‘Modern Stalking’, ‘Love On My Hands’, ‘Louder!’, and ‘In The Shadows’ featuring Holly Backler.
