KUVO, the music recognition and data platform developed by AlphaTheta, has announced a partnership with the International Nightlife Association (INA) to expand music reporting technology across nightclubs worldwide.

The agreement will connect KUVO with the INA’s international network, whose member associations represent more than 15,000 venues. The collaboration aims to help clubs identify the music played during DJ performances and provide more accurate usage information to organizations responsible for collecting and distributing music royalties.

Operating in the background at venues and DJ events, KUVO identifies tracks and generates reports that can support more accurate royalty distributions to artists and rights holders.

Previously operating as KUVO powered by DJ Monitor, the service now uses the KUVO name following AlphaTheta’s acquisition of DJ Monitor’s music recognition technology.

According to the company, the consolidated platform has a global music recognition rate exceeding 92%, supported by a reference library containing more than 200 million tracks.

The technology is already operating in more than 160 venue rooms across the United Kingdom, Ibiza, the Netherlands, and Australia, including Hï Ibiza, [UNVRS], Pacha Ibiza, Ministry of Sound, Paradiso, The Warehouse Project, Ivy, and Carousel.

Joaquim Boadas de Quintana, president of the International Nightlife Association, emphasized the importance of combining technology and industry cooperation to improve transparency in music usage reporting and royalty distribution.

He also highlighted that music recognition technology is already a requirement for venues seeking the International Nightlife Acoustic Quality (INAQ) certification, which forms part of the association’s Triple Excellence in Nightlife distinction.

Nygel Hiralall, managing director of AlphaTheta KUVO Technology, said the partnership represents a step toward making music recognition technology a standard component of nightclub and DJ event infrastructure.

Through the agreement, both organizations aim to expand automated music reporting and strengthen the connection between venues, performing artists, music creators, and rights holders.

More information about the partnership is available here.
