Apple has opened Apple Music Hall, a new 600-capacity live music venue at Battersea Power Station in London designed for intimate performances alongside integrated recording and broadcast production.

The venue features a 38-foot-wide reconfigurable stage and a 48-speaker spatial sound system positioned around the audience. Its production infrastructure includes two dedicated recording and mix studios, allowing performances to be captured as multitrack recordings and mixed in Spatial Audio either live or after the show.

Apple Music Hall is also wired for 16 or more cameras feeding a purpose-built broadcast control room, with support for iPhone capture alongside traditional broadcast cameras. Performances from the venue can also be livestreamed globally.

“At Apple Music, we care deeply about music, the artists who make it, and their life stories,” said Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1. “We’re always looking for new opportunities to connect the artists and the fans because we are fans. What better way to celebrate this relationship than a new music venue where we get to experience amazing music in an amazing space and share it with the world. Great music and memories will be made at Apple Music Hall.”

The opening also brings new Apple Music Radio studios to Battersea, from which the service’s London-based hosts and shows will broadcast live.
