Grimes has shared ‘Accelerando’, the first track from her upcoming album ‘Psy Opera’, marking her return to album releases six years after ‘Miss Anthropocene’. The new song is credited to Grimes and VADAKIN.

The track follows earlier mentions of two other songs, ‘The Light Ages’ and ‘Eve Is Online’, as the Canadian artist introduces the next chapter of her recording career.

‘Psy Opera’ was announced through a video teaser on Instagram, depicting a dystopian world populated by psychedelic imagery, alien figures, and an intergalactic war.

The preview includes an onscreen message calling for viewers to patiently await the system’s failure. A voiceover also reimagines the Gospel of John through artificial intelligence, replacing its opening with a reference to the creation of a large language model.
